BELIEFS

What we believe serves as the foundation of our faith.

GOD

God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, who are co-equal and one.

Genesis 1:1, 26, 27; 3:22
Psalm 90:2
Matthew 28:19
1 Peter 1:2
2 Corinthians 13:14

JESUS

Jesus Christ is the Son of God, co-equal with His Father and the Holy Spirit. He lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of everyone by dying on a cross. He arose from the dead after three days to demonstrate His power over sin and death. He ascended to Heaven and will return again to reign as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

Matthew 1:22-23
Isaiah 9:6
John 1:1-5; 14:10-30
Hebrews 4:14-15
1 Corinthians 15:3-4
Romans 1:3-4
Acts 1:9-11
1 Timothy 6:14-15
Titus 2:13

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe in the work of the Holy Spirit, who is co-equal with the Father and the Son. He works to convict us of our sin, to instruct and guide believers, and to empower God’s people with spiritual gifts.

2 Corinthians 3:17
John 16:7-13; 14:16-17
Acts 1:8
1 Corinthians 2:12; 3:16
Ephesians 1:13
Galatians 5:25
Ephesians 5:18

THE BIBLE

We believe that the God of the universe has spoken to us through the Bible, written by human authors, free from error, by the supernatural inspiration of the Holy Spirit.

2 Peter 1:20-21
Psalm 119:105, 160; 12:6
Proverbs 30:5

HUMANITY

People are made in the image of God and are the supreme object of His creation. Each one of us is uniquely created, possesses dignity, and is deeply loved by God. We were created to have a relationship with God but became separated in that relationship through disobedience (a.k.a sin). As a result, we cannot attain a right relationship with God through our own effort.

Genesis 1:26-28; 2:7, 18-22
Psalms 8:3-8; 51:5
Jeremiah 17:5
Acts 17:26-31
Romans 1:19-32; 3:10-18, 23; 5:6; 6:6; 7:14-25
1 Corinthians 1:21-31; 15:19, 21-22
Colossians 1:21-22

SALVATION

Salvation is a gift from God. People can never make up for what they have done wrong by self-improvement or good works. The only way to be saved from the penalty of our wrong doing (a.k.a. sin) is by trusting in Jesus as God’s offer of forgiveness. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus into his life by faith.

Romans 6:23; 5:1
Ephesians 2:8-9
John 14:6; 1:12
Titus 3:5
Galatians 3:26

THE CHURCH

We believe that the church is a local, visible body of believers, brought together to carry out the work of Jesus. We believe that the commission of the church extends to the uttermost part of the earth to tell others about Jesus.

Acts 2:41-47
Ephesians 5:22-32
Colossians 3:15
